Kayaking
Embark on a scenic kayak adventure that takes you through different ecological environments and appeals to nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The tour takes place in the scenic and extensive mangrove reserve of Laguna de Potosi, located 12 miles south of Zihuatanejo at the southern end of Playa Larga. The route to the launch site takes you through several local villages and agricultural areas and five distinct ecological zones with many opportunities to observe the diverse bird and plant life that makes this area so unique. Laguna de Potosi itself is home to thousands of waterfowl and migratory birds, and you can see an average of 50 different bird species per day.
Tours are approximately 6-mile flat-water paddles through mangrove channels and tunnels, remote back bays, wetlands and short open water sections. You can choose from four different routes that can last up to 4 hours. Shorter routes will will afford mountain and headland vistas at a slower pace.
